James A.
Smith, MS, LCMFT
James is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist who earned his Masters
Degree from Kansas State University. While James works full time
as a therapist he also teaches College Psychology and Sociology at Trinity
Academy.
James has extensive experience in assisting families in their efforts
to become healthy. While working for organizations such as DCCCA Family
Preservation, Homes First Initiative, and Youthville, James worked directly
with families in their homes to assist with marital and parenting issues.
James also has experience conducting teambuilding workshops for businesses
large and small. Some of his past clients include Sprint, Hallmark, IBM
and MoDOT. His experience enables him to not only work with individuals,
couples and families but also with large groups.
In addition to therapy, James is also able to speak on a variety of
topics for retreats or workshops. He combines his faith, humor
and love for families to assist with bringing joy to broken relationships
and encouragement to strengthen and motivate change.
Frequently joining James in therapy sessions is his Certified Professional Therapy
Dog “Tilly”.

Gina Wendt - Blasing, MS, LMFT
Gina is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who earned her Master's of Science degree from Friends University in Wichita, KS; she also has a BS degree in Biology from Emporia State University.
Gina has a passion for healing and strengthening the human spirit. She is trained and experienced in working with individuals, couples, families, and groups, and has an interest in working with issues of anxiety, trauma, grief, health concerns, and aging. Gina is also trained as an EMDR Therapist. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma and is accepted by the Veterans Administration (VA) and the APA (American Psychological Association). To date, EMDR has helped an estimated two million people of all ages relieve many types of psychological stress. Gina's clinical experience also includes a 13-month internship at the Robert Dole VA in the PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) Clinic/Behavioral Health working with veterans, veteran couples, and their families. In addition, she has experience working with perinatal hospice families and recently spent 1.5 years as a part-time crisis therapist at Comcare of Sedgwick County.
Prior to becoming an MFT, Gina worked in the health care industry with Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals in sales and corporate accounts, in management with Roche Diagnostics (sales, marketing, and operations) and as an Executive Director for several small medical clinics. This experience equips Gina to provide coaching and counseling in areas outside of mental health for those individuals who desire to improve their career and/or life skills. Gina is also accomplished in public speaking.
In her free time, Gina loves spending time with her husband and family, is an avid reader, enjoys cooking and writing, and works with the Military Ministry at her church.

Jennifer Bruening, MS, LCMFT
Jennifer is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist who earned her Masters Degree from Kansas State University in 1996. While Jennifer works part-time as a therapist she is a wife and mother of five children.
Jennifer has extensive experience working closely with multi-problem children and their families in order to improve parenting and child safety. Jennifer utilizes careful assessment with a strengths-based approach to assist families in solving problems.
Jennifer's passion is to encourage hope and change within the family system which includes treating large families; addressing lifecycle issues related to launching, empty nesting and aging issues; healing and reparation regarding marital and parent-child conflict. Jennifer relies on her faith to form and shape her approach to clients varying needs. It is her belief that grace and compassion are essential to provide a safe and healing environment for change.
Jennifer provides individual and group, clinical supervision to Marriage and Family Therapists whom are working toward clinical licensure through the BSRB.
Jennifer has completed CORE and Domestic Mediation training and is currently working towards certification as a Christian Sex Therapist.
She volunteers at her parish and has past experience as a Young Life Leader.

L. R. Smith, MS, LMFT
Lou is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who earned his Masters Degree from Friends University. He works part time as a therapist and has flexible hours to accommodate the needs of his clients.
His experience includes an internship at the Robert Dole Veterans Administration Hospital working with Veterans and their various mental health issues. This included not only working with the Veteran but also with the spouses and their families in the Behavioral Health Clinic. Additionally, he has worked for several years in a private practice setting.
His experience has included working with individuals, couples and families and also with large groups.
In addition to his role as a therapist, he enjoys volunteering at his church where he has served as an elder, board member, school board member, Sunday School teacher, and Bible Study leader. Also Lou enjoys his hobbies of boating and fishing with his grandchildren. He utilizes his faith to encourage and motivate his clients to change and improve their relationships and family lives.

Kristin Kroeker, MS, LMFT, LPC
Kristin is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Community Counseling from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. She earned her undergraduate degree in Family Psychology from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Kristin is currently under supervision for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist.
Kristin is trained and has experience working with individuals, couples, families and groups with a variety of presenting issues such as anxiety, depression, relational issues, self-esteem, aging, parenting, and grief. Kristin works with each individual, couple, and family to assist them in building on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. She has a passion for helping others, while providing sincerity and warmth in session. Kristin utilizes her Christian beliefs to help people experience grace, healing, love and hope within their lives.
Kristin is trained and certified in Prepare-Enrich, a pre-marital and marital program to assist couples in building a strong marriage.
In addition to her role as a therapist, Kristin is a wife and mother.
